We Can Help
Our specially trained therapists work women who have survived child sexual abuse through group therapy. Because of the cyclical nature of sexual abuse, many of the women who participate in our women's treatment program, come to the Children's Center for Hope & Healing because their own children have been victimized.
- Some of the goals of our program for women survivors include:
- Decreasing a woman's sense of isolation. Many women who have survived abused feel alone and feel as though no one else can understand their experiences.
- Provide information about healthy sexuality. Many female survivors have never learned what constitutes healthy sexual activity versus what does not.
- Build new survival skills. Because they were abused as children, they may not know how to keep themselves or their children safe from abusers.
- Help women to identify themselves as survivors rather than victims.
